'Unidentified Funkin' Object' was composed for the City of Bradford Brass Band as a Euphonium solo and later revised for Soprano Cornet. The work formed the solo feature of the band's set of music inspired by H.G Wells' 'The War of the Worlds'. At this point in the story, Ogilvy - the astronomer - approaches a mysterious cylinder which has crashed into the common.
