'Intrada' was composed for the final undergraduate recital of Joe Purbrook at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2019. The work is a complex and heavily rhythmically driven test for soloist, acting as the lead in an unusual chamber ensemble comprising of Organ, Vibraphone and Percussion.
Throughout the piece there is the opportunity to showcase many different styles, often acompanied by other members of the ensemble in their more traditional use and style, but all revolving around a short 7 bar melody which is displayed at the outset by the Bass Trombone.
